Where (ANBAALAYAM IS AND HOW TO REACH IT)

ANBAALAYAM is a part of JYOTI ASHRAM, and is situated in a village called THANNEERPALLI in the district of KARUR in Tamil Nadu, South India.

[I had founded JYOTI ASHRAM in 1998, with the intention of Fostering YOGA. This is being carried out through my writings, songs that I compose, through personal contact, through e-mail and once in a while through Seminars.]

If You could grace us with a visit, (and we really hope You do), we will be very happy. Let me give You some directions as to how to reach ANBAALAYAM.

Text Box:           If You are coming from the WESTERN PARTS OF INDIA, for instance from Coimbatore or Kerala, You may find the “Cochin-Trichy Express” convenient. There is also a train from Karnataka, namely the “Mysore-Tanjore Express.” In both cases, You ALIGHT AT KULITALAI. Trichy is some 35 kms beyond  this station from this direction..

Thanneerpalli is about 2.5 kms from the Kulitalai Railway Station, and some 2 kms from the Bus Stand, on the Kulitalai-Trichy main road, towards Trichy. You may find it convenient to come to the village by Auto Rickshaw. Taxies are also available at the Bus Stand.

If You are coming from TIRUCHIRAPPALLI, (called TRICHY in short), and if You are coming by train or by long distance buses, again You alight at Kulitalai and take an Auto to Thanneerpalli.

When coming by Your own vehicle (from Trichy side), please remember that Thanneerpalli is 2 km before Kulitalai.

Text Box: When You reach the Thanneerpalli Bus Stop, ask for Jyoti Ashram, or better still, ask for “the KUDUMI SAMI.” Kudumi meaning hair tied in a topknot, I am affectionately known by that name.

JYOTI ASHRAM is just 200 metres from the Road.

PLACES OF INTEREST NEARBY

THANNEERPALLI is the village which has the famous “SACCIDANANDA ASHRAM,” also known as “SHANTIVANAM,” founded more than 50 years ago, and sacred to the memories of Rev. Monchanin, Le Seux and Bede Griffiths.

A few words for those who are not from Tamil Nadu. I list a few places that are of general interest, and just a few hours away by road. TIRUCHIRAPALLI itself is a city of great historical interest; as are TANJORE, some 65 km to its East, and MADURAI, about 145 kilometres to the South of Trichy.

         WHEN TO VISIT!

Let it be understood that YOU ARE WELCOME ANY TIME. No need to inform us before hand. Just drop in!

YET, climatically, from about March to August, which can roughly be called the Summer over here, the temperatures rise to some 35 to 40 degrees Celsius. September to November is the Rainy Season. Hence DECEMBER TO FEBRUARY may be the best times to come to Tamil Nadu.

SO WELCOME!
